Jessica Rae–music video/graphic design/tour/charity

I am in the middle of discussing a new music video. The folks at TCN are being very supportive and I’m excited to hear the different treatments directors will give to me. I will then choose which direction I want to take in regards to my song choice!!

I have another mini tour in the midwest coming up.  I have been performing at more restaurants and cafe’s lately and my music is going over great — so wonderful! Stay in touch on my TOUR schedule and maybe you can show up =)  Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and the Chicagoland area.

More exciting news– I have been working with a company I met while in Chicago, Music Dealers. A company who will try and license my music to film/radio and TV. How fun~ Cross your fingers for me and hopefully one of my songs will land somewhere!

Lately, I’ve sold a couple t-shirts off my website. A portion of the proceeds go towards a charity I love supporting, SmileTrain.  For only $250, doctors fix cleft palates and give a child a smile. What a gift to give someone, right??!! Check out the tshirts HERE. The artwork on the tshirts is drawn by yours truly when I was a kid. Would love your support and I know SmileTrain will as well!

Not sure if all of you know– but I love doing graphic design. I do all of my own posters, CD design, photoshop of pictures, etc.  I was asked to give a hand and design my friend Brian James’ new CD cover. I designed two and he decided on one of them to use which is great!

If you need any help designing/retouching/logo design  etc. please feel free to reach out to me..jessica@jessicaraemusic.com  =)

Jessica Rae- musical angel from Chicago, Illinois

Jessica Rae: A musical angel from Chicago, Illinois

Jessica Rae in her short career as a singer has proven to the world that she is an angel. She does not limit herself to music since she finds the time to help people, who suffer from Hemophilia.
JESSICA RAE is one of the few singers that is the real thing at a time when people are tired of the artificial culture from Hollywood and New York.
The musical angel from Chicago, Illinois has managed to infect the music world with her smile, down to earth attitude and true music. I had the honour of discovering the music of Jessica Rae from Ohioan singer Jim Callahan. It was something that I never regretted.
The first song I heard that was interpreted by this multifacetic singer was “Christmas In Nashville”. The song left me impressed and it was like actually being in Tennessee during the Christmas season.
I could not limit myself to one song so I saw the video of her recent hit “I Could Get Used To This”. The video was brilliantly done and the song was natural in its delivery. The sincerity of Jessica Rae was present in this video and song.
The song “Ruby Red” evoked the same spirit that makes Jessica Rae different from the rest of the artists in the USA and the world.
Jessica Rae has also performed in various Hard Rock Cafe Restaurants around the United States of America and I hope that she could do the same around the world.
She also made an appearance in the PBS Program “Legends and Lyrics” as a rising star. The initials PBS represent the Public Broadcasting System in the United States of America.
The Midwestern Angel also performed for Pat Benatar and at the Milwaukee Summerfest to rave reviews.
Jessica Rae does not limit herself to music since she finds the time to help people, who suffer from Hemophilia. She is active in the National Hemophilic Association and Smile Train with the intention of promoting awareness of this dreaded disease.
Jessica Rae also talks about the right of people to be happy and her music does that.
I remember reading about a photographer, who plays her music on his way to work and is happy. I myself have written my articles with her music in the background and the articles mostly come out successful.
I can only imagine what could be in store for Jessica Rae if she continues in her current path in music. We will be seeing an angel, who has rescued us from mediocre music and self doubt.

Jessica Rae review!

I just received a great review on my music and song, “Christmas in Nashville
Check it out here!
Thanks so much, Roberto~  what a Christmas this will be.
I discovered Jessica Rae‘s music by accident secondary to a recommendation by a friend and fellow Ohioan Jim Callahan. Jim Callahan is a Rock and Country Star living in Tennessee. I decided to look at the webpage of Jessica Rae and heard the voice of an angel on the earth singing “Christmas in Nashville“.

When I heard “Christmas In Nashville” interpreted by Jessica Rae, I knew that there was another singer songwriter in the United States of America with great talent but neglected in favour of the routine predominant in Hollywood and New York. Jessica Rae has gone a long way from her birth beginnings in Chicago, Illinois to living In Tennessee.

I decided to investigate further this Midwestern Musical Angel on Earth and found out that she did many concerts in many Hard Rock Cafes around the USA.  Jessica Rae even appeared on the PBS [Public Broadcasting Service] Program called “Legends and Lyrics” as a rising star.

Jessica Rae has also performed with singers such as Pat Benatar and participated in the Milwaukee Summerfest receiving praise from those who have heard her. The songs interpreted by Jessica Rae are those that have been interpreted with a heart and soul. It is something that the people need.

The Midwestern Musical Angel on Earth is not just an angel in music; she has lent her voice to causes that have helped humanity. The difference is that she does not publicize them. Jessica Rae has been active in the National Haemophiliac Association and Smile Train. She is a believer in that people has a right to be happy and that there should be more of an awareness of hemophilia.

The song “I Could Get Used To This” as well as “Ruby Red” evokes a kind of calm that comes from the sincerity of the interpretation of the music. I also saw the video “I Could Get Used To This” on You Tube. The video was one of the best that I have seen in the way it was recorded. I was able to appreciate in the video how sincere is Jessica Rae in her interpretation of the song and in the music video.

My reason is that when the majority of Hollywood and New York personalities record their music videos, they use an excess of props and cosmetics which makes the whole thing artificial.  Jessica Rae is going to record another album in 2011, we will be expecting more from her and her sincere as well as natural voice.

Jessica Rae- cooking!

So today I decided to share with you all a “hobby” of mine:  cooking. My parents have this fabulous recipe for carrot soup and I’ve had it since I was a little girl… if you’re interested in making this yourself, here’s the receipe  🙂

Carrot Cream Soup
1 pound carrots
1 medium onion
2 tablespoons corn oil (I used olive oil)
6 cups of water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 handful of fresh parsley, chopped (I used cilantro)

Chop carrots and onion into chunks. Heat the oil in a 3-quart pot and saute the onions for 2 to 3 minutes or until just wilted; stir in the carrots. Add water and salt and bring to boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until carrots are soft. Pour the soup into a blender and puree, then transfer back to the pan and reheat.

NOTE: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU PUT THE CARROTS INTO BLENDER. ONLY FILL BLENDER HALF WAY AND HOLD DOWN TIGHTLY WITH KITCHEN TOWEL. THERE IS A LOT OF STEAM/INTENSE HEAT. IF NO CAUTION IS TAKEN, IT CAN BURST OUT AND BURN YOU!

I hope you guys enjoy the soup as much I do. It also tastes great with that cilantro/parsley!!

Jessica Rae- I am just bad with this whole blogging thing…

Umm, yea so I haven’t blogged in a long time. sorry folks. There has been a ton happening lately so I’ll try and do a catch up blog!!

In June, I was touring a bunch and I got a good taste of being on the road. I learned that the people you surround yourself with on a van/tour is the most important part…a 6 hour drive can feel like a 26 hour drive if you’re with the wrong people. Enough said.

Summerfest was a total success!! I am so happy with the way it went…Im waiting on some footage that was taken so hopefully I can post that soon! We had a great crowd- thank you to all of you who came to support me!

So while writing this blog this tv show, Toddlers and Tiaras is on. Wowee. What an interesting show. I think the parents are the worst part…I just heard these people say they let their kid do anything she wants to because otherwise she has a temper tantrum. Umm, hello people!!! Its because she knows that if she has the temper tantrum she’ll get her way. Gosh. These parents are part of a huge problem– raising a generation with self entitlement issues.  I see it all the time and it ticks me off to say the least. Whew, that was my rant for the day. haha.

I went to New Orleans to play with Christian artist, Charmaine.  She is an incredible talent and I’m happy to play violin for her!  Upon arrival, we were staying at a hotel right on Bourbon street, our rental van decided to fail us a couple blocks away from the hotel. HA! so the whole band jumped out of the van and started pushing on a Saturday night around midnight. oh my gosh, I was laughing so hard! For a reference to the laugh, please visit Rockit Laugh to hear my laugh even when Im not around!! HA! Anyway…I loved New Orleans and I must go back to visit as I feel like I only hit the tip of the iceberg.

What else…today I was hired to “fake play” the violin for a childrens TV show…this was their last episode of 30 and it was a great experience. There was a track of music playing and we would pretend to play it (kinda like a music video). I was a bit hungover today so the kids, line dancing, a violin and a fog machine was Not a pleasant way to recover. HA!

Transition here. Soo I just mentioned music video…Well! My music video is now FINISHED!! I will be letting you know where and when you can see it– soon. You can buy the single “I Could Get Used to This” on ITUNES and my website. Thank you for your support in advance!! I’m terribly excited about this song and the music video…can’t wait to share it with you all.
